Steve Bowman also raced the 55th edition of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Cyclocross race on Sunday. Making it part of a big weekend where he also completed the 3 Peaks Walk, all in aid of Mind Manchester a mental health charity for young people.
” The race went well in rough conditions caused by the persistent rain of the last few week, but a big crash descending Peny Ghent followed by a poking and prodding session with the Mountain Rescue medics hampered things somewhat, in the end I was pleased to finish the event. The KTM Bike Industries UK Canic was fantastic and took the punishment better than me
* update, Steve Bowman went to the local hospital today and has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 ACJ separation. So a few weeks off the bikes and then taking things steady for a couple more.
Chris Bailey competed in the 55th edition of the Three Peaks Cyclocross race on Sunday. Racing this iconic race for the first time, Chris finished in 49th out of 550 in a time of 3 hours and 39 minutes smashing his target of 4 hours. Chris said ‘This was the best race of the season, the support on the course was amazing. It was brutal throughout but I enjoyed every single bit of it. The bike performed perfectly and it was a pleasure to ride. The disc brakes were a god send and kept everything under control on the descents. I am definitely hooked and I am already looking forward to next year.’
